You might want to consider buying a robotic vacuum that is specifically designed for pet hair in the event that you have dogs or cats in your home. These models typically have strong suction power, that can pull up fur strands and food crumbs and cat litter spills.

They also typically have large dustbins, which can reduce the frequency of emptying. Some have an extra mopping pad.

1. Eufy RoboVac 11S

The Eufy RoboVac 11S is an affordable robot vacuum that comes with a variety of great pet hair-busting features. It's quiet and has a decent size dirt compartment and battery, and can perform auto cleaning for up to two minutes in spot cleaning mode. It also has BoostIQ which automatically switches between  the two modes 'Standard Power' and "Maximum Suction' for the best performance on each flooring type.

It does not map rooms like Roomba does, but it has reactive obstacle avoidance and drop-sensors that prevent it from crashing into other objects (like cats or dogs) or slipping down the stairs. It is also able to stop and resume cleaning while it gathers debris and transports it to the charging base. It also has a self-emptying function and a small dustbin that doesn't require you to be able to see or touch what it is sucking.

When we test the 11S it was able to perform well on bare floors and a carpet that was medium with cat hair. It didn't perform as well on carpets with high piles and had a tougher time when dealing with heavier debris such as kitty-litter and cereal. However, it still did better than the majority of its competitors. It also climbed over obstacles with low levels like cords with ease and did a great job of avoiding pet hair stuck to the brushes and wheels.

We observed that the 11S did not perform well with hair from dogs as other models, however the amount was lower than other models in our tests. The 11S has some limitations as well including not being able to schedule and having a small range of voice commands. However they're not major concerns.

While the 11S is a good choice however, we would suggest looking into other robot vacuums with more advanced functionality. The iRobot Roomba 960, for instance, is built better and easier to maintain with a bigger dirt compartment, faster recharge time and intelligent pathing, and works better on all surfaces than the eufy. The iRobot also clears more pet hair and has an extensive set of features to meet your home automation requirements.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The Deebot T10 Omni provides a high-end hands-free cleaning experience for floors. It's among the most powerful robotic vacuums that are available and has great capabilities for removing pet hair and litter. It also integrates with smart assistants, such as Alexa and Google Assistant. This makes it easy to modify your cleaning schedule and utilize the voice commands.

Its ability to avoid obstacles could be improved. The T10 Omni tends to smack into loose cabinet baseboards and furniture and gets stuck in the tight corners of the home. It is also prone to damage to surfaces and furniture by knocking against furniture as it tries to get out of rooms. The T10 is a bit random when it comes to navigating, too. It can't see things like socks and cords, so it runs into them.

Fortunately, the latest T10+ has upgraded its navigation system and eliminated the camera on previous models. Ecovacs instead opted to use lasers and a structured light source to aid in navigation. This is a wise choice as it will help the T10 avoid obstacles and furniture more efficiently.

Additionally, the T10+ has a self-emptying dust container and dock that automatically cleans and dry mopping pads to avoid the buildup of bacteria. It also has suction capacity of 8,000Pa and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control. It's also the most expensive robotic vacuum in our line-up however it is a great option for homes with a lot of carpeted areas.

Some robot vacuums are more feature-rich than others. Certain robot vacuums allow you to customize your cleaning schedule and choose which rooms to clean. Some have larger dust bins which reduce the frequency you have to empty them. Some have tangle free brush rolls that decrease the amount of hair that is sucked up into the dustbin. Some have a quieter operating noise, which can be beneficial for families with sensitive ears. Additionally there are many robotic vacuums that for pet hair are compatible with smart home assistants to allow voice control and can connect to apps on smartphones to monitor cleaning progress.

iRobot Roomba 960

The Roomba 960 is one of the best robot vacuums for pet hair. It was a great performer in the majority of our tests. However, it experienced some issues with obstacles such as carpet tassels and rug. It also has a slightly more expensive price than its competitors, though it comes with more features and has better navigation than other models we tested.

It has a large dustbin and has the virtual wall barrier which can be useful in keeping it out of areas where you don't want it to move. It's compatible with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant and allows you to control the robot by voice commands. The iRobot application lets you view a map of all the areas it has cleaned and you can set your cleaning preferences.

When we tried it on clean floors, the 960 did amazing job. It picked up a lot of surface litter, including cereal, and did a great job of picking up embedded debris. It isn't bad on low-pile carpet, either however it loses steam when the dirt compartment is filled up. It also has a few pieces that you need to replace frequently.

It scored well in our Home Coverage test, which is responsible for 20 percent of a robot's total score. It covered the entire furnished room, which is more than any other robot we've evaluated. The 960 did an excellent job on the stairs, too, which is a difficult task for the majority of robots. It didn't perform better on carpets than the 980 or our top choice, the Neato Botvac D80, but it still did an excellent job.

It's a bit more expensive than the D80 however it comes with an impressive set of smart features and a bigger dustbin. The 960 is an excellent choice if you don't mind the loss of navigation and obstacle detection, but still want to get excellent debris removal. It also has a lower cost than the 980, which means it incurs fewer recurring expenses.

4. iRobot Roomba 980

The Roomba 980 is iRobot's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and their best model for dealing with pet hair. It's a bit more expensive than some of the other models on this list, however it comes with a mix of muscle and brains that makes it one of the most efficient robot vacuums on the market. It comes with a tread to move across uneven floors and the suction to pick up cat litter scattered across your home. It also has connectivity so you can control it remotely or schedule cleaning schedules.

It's the most advanced robotvac we've ever tested and uses iRobot's most advanced software to sketch out your home's layout and devise a plan of action for every cleaning cycle. It uses a camera and an on-board sensor to accomplish this. It also uses a unique algorithm called VSLAM (Visual Simultaneous Mapping and Localization).

Despite being able to find its way through your home with ease the Roomba 980 isn't an ideal machine. Its quick cleans left behind a smattering of sawdust on vinyl, and a decent amount of pet hair on carpet. It is able to be manually directed by using a virtual barrier to stay out of these areas.

The iRobot App allows you to set them up close to your pet's water and food bowls, as well as anywhere else you'd like to keep away. If you're looking for a little more help preventing your pet's hair from ending up on the floor The 980 comes with a unique Power Boost mode that increases suction when needed.

As far as user experience goes the 980 is pleasant to use. Its large, central CLEAN button is easy to find and presses down with satisfying click to begin the cleaning process. There are three additional buttons on the exterior: a power button and a schedule button and a reset button. The iRobot App allows you to control your robot by voice commands or with a smartphone.
